About the Artwork

In Snake Plant Boy I explore the intersection of queer desire, resilience, and natural symbolism. The snake plant, known for its strength and ability to thrive in almost any environment, becomes a metaphor for queer existence: persistent, unapologetic, and luminous.

The boy with electric-blue hair emerges as both sensual and defiant. His gaze disrupts conventional expectations of masculinity, presenting the male body not as an emblem of dominance, but as a space for tenderness, eroticism, and self-expression. He is vulnerable yet powerful, intimate yet unyielding — a living reminder that beauty itself can be an act of resistance.

This work is part of my ongoing dialogue with the representation of the male nude in art history. By placing the queer body at the center, radiant and unashamed, I aim to reclaim visibility and challenge the cultural silence that has too often surrounded male sensuality.
