About the Artwork

Composition No. 1 marks the beginning of a new series of abstract paintings in which I return to my earlier experiments with abstraction, this time exploring it as a more systematic direction in my artistic practice.

Moving beyond recognizable subjects, I shift my attention to the relationships between color, form, texture, and movement. Fragmented shapes, sharp diagonals, and expressive brushstrokes create a dynamic composition in which contrasting elements collide, overlap, and interact.

Although the painting is abstract, its pale, flesh-like forms retain subtle echoes of the human body, establishing a visual connection with my figurative works. These ambiguous forms exist somewhere between recognition and pure abstraction, leaving room for personal associations and interpretations rather than suggesting a fixed meaning.

With this new series, I want to give myself greater freedom to experiment, allowing color, gesture, and composition to become subjects in their own right, independent of narrative or recognizable imagery.
